Saving Seconds, Saving Lives

Last Wednesday Baptist held a special event for patients at the San Antonio Plaza Club called "Heart Alert Celebration - Saving Seconds, Saving Lives."

In 2005, Baptist Health System became the first system in San Antonio to implement the groundbreaking “Heart Alert” program that in many cases gets heart attack patients into the cath lab for life-saving treatment in under an hour. This time-frame is well under the national standard of 90 minutes – ultimately saving precious time in diagnosing and treating patients suffering a heart attack.

The event recognized patients whose lives were saved through the Heart Alert program and put the spotlight on the physicians, nurses, and medical experts who have made Heart Alert a success.
